In this Blog I am going to describe to you the three main mistakes people make when try to optimize their websites for search engines. Because their are so many articles on SEO you could go on and on and its been done so many time, there is no need for me to get into it. I wil just waste your time and mine. So, instead of doing that, I am going to tell you the three parts of SEO most articles tell you to do,m that can acctually hurt your ranking. I belive the 3 key points of SEO are Structure, Quality, and Link Aggregation.

Structure

The way you put your site together is crutial to how seach engine spiders will crawl it. This does not apply to ALL search engines. Google is one of the few that this is untrue for. Most sites today use dynamic structures to display the information. While using a dynamic system is more sensible, it’s not always the best.

Some ways of using dynamic linking systems can confuse some crawlers and have them miss huge very important parts of your website. If a search engine can only index a few pages of a site; when a term is searched for only the pages indexed of a site will be displayed by the search engines. Having the correct stucture is a very important part to how your site will be indexed.

Example:

Try not to utilize a dynamic content management system unless you really know how to use them. If not coded correctly search engines will skip over complete pages of your site.ost of these types of programs use an id?= type link, which search engines will not follow. While effort is being put forth toward indexing these types of sites, it’s not fully utilized.

If you use staic links you will be much more sucessful in having your website indexed correctly.


Quality

When building a site, keep in mind quality. Quality can be the best tool a site could ever utilize. While having good ranking on search engines helps with traffic to a site, if a user isn’t given quality information, the site is considered not important. You have to be sure to keep users intested in your content in order to keep them coming back.

When producing a quality site, do not try to do too much at one once. Focus on one topic or subject and build upon that. If you focus more on mass of quantity then quality, then you site will definatly not succeed, becvaue you will have no content that the user is interested in.

For example, the all famous tutorial site example. ENOUGH SCANLINES ALREADY. I see this more and more everyday. Sites create by major newbies, just trying to get their site big so they can make a few bucks on adsense. If this is the reason you are running a sit, then just quit while you ahead, becasue you are not going anywhere.

The main point I am trying to get to by quatity is to try and have good content to base around the subject of you site. Also be sure to include your keywords in your content. Including keywords or key phrases into a sites content is a great way to boost search engine ranking. While choosing a sites keywords and phrases be careful, saturating a site with the same keyword or phrase will lower your ranking on search engines. This is considered keyword saturation and will hurt a sites ranking tremendously.


Link Aggregation

It is a well known SEO fact that the more out of site links you have pointing to your site, the higher your ranking will nbe. Although, this is not always true.

Link Aggregation refers to having reciprocal links in mass quantities. While having a large amount of reciprocal links will aid in a sites ranking on search engines; there are many factors that can hinder a sites ranking also. Stay away from link farms and free for all sites. These types of reciprocal links may seem like a diamond in the ruff, they will end up hurting a sites ranking on search engines greatly. They can even end up in getting a site black listed from search engines. Having reference to such sites as link farms and FFA sites is considered spamming. We all know what Spam is and also know how bad it is and can be. Why associate a site with these types of things?

All you need to do is find, again, quality site too eachange you site with, Be sure not just to give you link to anyone who asks. Check out their sitye first. Make sure they are as serious as you are. You dont want a bunch of low ranking site linking to you, althoguth it might make your rank go up a little, it will not be worth it in the end.
